Ferrell R. Bennett

Col. Ferrell R. (Hank) Bennett, 79, died Sunday, March 23, 2014.
Born May 13, 1934, in Corydon, he was the son of the late Kathleen Wolfe and Floyd Raisor.
He was a 1952 graduate of Bosse High School, a graduate of Indiana University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration degrees. He served unaccompanied tours and assignments in Korea, Vietnam and to the Middle East, South Asia and Africa, served in the 11th Airborne Division, the 24th Infantry Division and the 7th Infantry Division. He was a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and Staff College, the U.S. Army War College, the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and the Cornell Executive Development Program. Awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Joint Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters. After serving in the Army for 26 years, he was president of the Farm Credit System Building Association for 10 years, where he managed 12 facilities in the United States and provided support and equipment to Farm Credit Administration, and he was a member of the Lord of Life Lutheran Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark David, in 1986.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, the former Laura (Marie) Hose; a son, Brent Alan of Spotsylvania, Va.; a daughter, Laura Bennett Kaehler of LaGrange, Ill.; two brothers, Robert Raisor of Depauw and Randy Raisor of Huntingburg; and two granddaughters.
Interment: At a later date with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
