Pastor Walter L. Raines

Pastor Walter L. Raines, 81, Central, formerly of Middlesboro, Ky., died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born Nov. 29, 1932, in Middlesboro, he was the son of the late Preston and Nancy Simpson Raines.
He was the founder and pastor of First Born Church of God, originally in Middlesboro, and currently in Corydon.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, the former Jeanette McBee; three daughters, Linda King, Anna England and Norma Heishman, all of Corydon; a brother, Gene Raines of Elkhart; a sister, Cordie Browning of Middlesboro; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, April 6, from noon to 5 p.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon and Tuesday, April 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Creech Funeral Home in Middlesboro.
Funeral: Sunday, April 6, at 5 p.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home and Tuesday, April 8, at 2 p.m. at Creech Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Diabetes Association.
