Dorothy (Dot) L. Reader, 89, Corydon, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at her home.
Born June 11, 1924, in New Albany, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Burkhart and Agnes Gertrude Eve Schmitt.
She was a former telephone operator for Indiana Bell, worked as a telephone operator at Camp Atterbury during World War II and was a member of the old Corydon Country Club and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Reader.
Survivors include two nieces, Patricia Ann Tucker and Deanna Krininger, both of New Albany.
Visitation: Saturday, March 1, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 2, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Sunday, March 2, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth.
