James W. Tuell
James William (Jim) Tuell, 78, Hardinsburg, Ky., formerly of Elizabeth, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, in Laconia.
Born Sept. 2, 1935, in Elizabeth, he was the son of the late Bernard and Hazel Johnson Tuell.
He was retired from the Harrison County Highway Dept. as a heavy equipment operator, was a member of the National Rifle Association and was a former coach for 4-H Shooting Sports.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Jeffrey and Stephen James Tuell, and a brother, Lawrence (Jake) Tuell.
Survivors include his wife, the former Lynn Hinton Tuell of Hardinsburg, Ky.; four children, Sondra Hinton of Brandenburg and Vonda (Jan) Sample, JoEtta Knott and Beth Allen, all of Elizabeth; three stepchildren, Jody Tabor and Patrick Tabor, both of Garfield, Ky., and Molly Tabor of Hardinsburg, Ky.; five brothers, Leo, Ray, Jerry and Rick Tuell, all of Elizabeth, and David Tuell of Edwardsville; three sisters, Vicky Bodenstadt and Regina Tuell, both of Elizabeth, and Roxann Dycus of Corydon; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, Feb. 7, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (CST) at St. Peter’s Catholic Church near Elizabeth.
Funeral: Friday, Feb. 7, at 1 p.m. (CST) at the church with burial in the church cemetery.
Officiants: Fr. Fred Denison and Deacon Tony Anthony.
Arrangements: Trent Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg, Ky.
