Elizabeth V. Briscoe

Elizabeth V. Briscoe, 91, Depauw, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born Jan. 1, 1923, at Depauw, she was the daughter of the late Firman M. and Edna C. Arnold Sieg Sr.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Frenchtown.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman C. Briscoe; a daughter, Rita M. Harrell; a brother, Firman M. Sieg Jr.; and a sister, Dorothy Byerley.
Surviving include four sons, James E. Briscoe of Harlowton, Mont., Michael A. Briscoe of Omaha, Neb., Marvin T. Briscoe Sr. of Ramsey and Donald J. Briscoe of Depauw; three daughters, Hellen L. Ward of Brownsburg, Nancy M. Briscoe of Sellersburg and Priscilla A. Gettelfinger of Palmyra; two sisters, Margaret Kiesler of Jeffersonville and Elaine M. Sieg of Scottsburg; 30 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Saturday, Jan. 11, from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 12, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 13, after 8 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Monday, Jan. 13, at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Frenchtown with burial in the church cemetery.
