Richard Edward (Dick) Keinsley, 70, Lanesville, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born Oct. 29, 1943, in Harrison County, he was the son of the late Charles G. and Catherine Margaret Schneider Keinsley.
He was retired from Philip Morris in Louisville, where he worked for 33 years, was a member of the Lanesville Volunteer Fire Dept. for many years, was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lanesville, was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Lanesville, was one of the original developers of the complex where the Lanesville Little League fields now stand and was a lifelong resident of Lanesville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Stephen and Allen Keinsley.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, the former Eleanor Ann Stevens; two sons, Brian Keinsley of Corydon and Bradley Keinsley of Fort Wayne; a brother, Glenn Keinsley, and his twin brother, Nicholas (Nick) Keinsley, both of Lanesville; a sister, Carol Harbeson of Lanesville; and five grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, Dec. 9, from 4 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday, Dec. 11, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Rehoboth Cemetery near Laconia.
Officiant: Pastor Edith Bleecker.
Pallbearers: Craig, Jenna and Brooklynn Keinsley, Brent Absher, Derek Schoen, Jerry Pease and Mike Barksdale.
Honorary pallbearers: Lucas and Margaret Keinsley.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Lanesville United Methodist Church.
