John W. Missi
John W. Missi, 89, Lanesville, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Corydon Nursing Home and Rehab.
Born Sept. 4, 1924, in New Albany, he was the son of the late Alfred and Amy Ross Missi.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired accounting clerk for CSX railroad and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Doris Walther.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Monday, Oct. 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 29, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church south of Lanesville with burial in the church cemetery.
Officiant: Pastor Christopher Truelsen.
Pallbearers: Roger, Rodney, Ralph and Robin Schoen, Dale Walther and Kenny Missi.
The family suggests memorial gifts to his church.
