Mary J. McCarty

Mary Jane McCarty, 99, Corydon, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at Kindred Transitional Care- Corydon.
Born May 12, 1914, in Russellville, Ill., she was the daughter of the late George W. and Nora Wolfe Trobaugh.
She had worked as a deputy for Royal Neighbors of America and at Seinshiemers Shirt Factory in New Albany and was a member of Royal Neighbors of America Camp No. 4224 in New Albany, the Order of the Eastern Star No. 467 in Corydon and New Amsterdam United Methodist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her, Lewis and Nancy Trobaugh; three brothers, Carl, Verne Clinton and Charles William Trobaugh; and a sister, Dorothy Cushwa.
Survivors include a sister, Irene Neely Cuerdon of New Albany.
Visitation: Thursday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with an Eastern Star service at 7, and Friday, Oct. 25, after 11 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Friday, Oct. 25, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in the New Amsterdam Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial gifts to her church.
