Evelyn I. Vaughn

Evelyn Inez Vaughn, 87, Corydon, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, after a long illness, at Indian Creek Health & Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
Born Sept. 23, 1926, in Harrison County, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Alice Kintner Bruce.
She was a former owner, with her husband, of the old Marathon Gas Station in downtown Corydon and formerly employed at H.A. Seinsheimer’s Shirt Factory in New Albany.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Oliver Vaughn; a son, Gary Vaughn; and two grandchildren, Michael Lewis and Jaquelyn Morrison.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Vaughn of New Albany; two daughters, Patricia Ann Spencer of Mauckport and Sherry Vaughn of Milltown; a brother, Earl Bruce of Central Barren; two sisters, Janice Fritz and Doris Sutton, both of Muncie; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Visitation: Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 17, after 8 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, Oct. 17, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Heidelberg Cemetery near Corydon.
Officiant: The Rev. Jim Higdon.
Pallbearers: Zach and Larry Lewis, Junior and Joshua Sheckells and Jonathan and Tom Vaughn.
