Lady Cats sweep Borden
North Harrison traveled to Borden last Tuesday for an out-of-conference volleyball match against the Lady Braves.
Backed by a 10-kill night from Bethany Wiley, North Harrison went on to sweep the host 25-19, 25-11, 25-18.
‘I felt like at times we played great,’ North Harrison coach Alexis Speer said. ‘There were a few times where we kept making mistake after mistake. We are still working on those. Those unforced errors are what is making a difference in the game right now.’
Wiley’s 10 spikes led the team, while Maddie Janes chipped in six kills and Carlie Burson had five.
Feeding the attacks was Jill Book with 23 assists. She also had 10 digs.
After taking the second game 25-11, North Harrison had to fend off rallies from the Lady Braves to secure game three, 25-18.
‘We were up, ready to finish out our third game, and we just made mistake after mistake and we ended up letting them right back in it,’ Speer said. ‘It is early in the season yet, but those are things we will continue to work on.’
At the service line, Burson had six aces, going nine of 10. She also led the team in digs with 17.
‘Bethany played a great game,’ Speer said. ‘She passed and hit well tonight. Carlie played awesome defense and passed really well tonight. I am proud of the girls. It was nice to get a win.’
North Harrison will return to the court tomorrow (Thursday) when it host Clarksville at 6 p.m.
