Final Bluegrass concert of the season Saturday
The final Bluegrass on the Square Concert for the 2013 season will be Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m., featuring No Tools Loaned and headlined by Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice.
No Tools Loaned hails from Kentucky. With their unique mix of original songs, new bluegrass tunes, classic rock, folk ballads and western swing numbers, the band has mastered the acoustic music arena. This Frankfort-based bluegrass band has a style that is uniquely No Tools Loaned.
Junior Sisk & Rambler Choice was named the 2012 International Bluegrass Music Association Award-winning artist. From the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia comes one of Bluegrass’ most honest voices, Junior Sisk. Through the years, his haunting, almost lonesome vocals have earned him the devotion of countless traditional bluegrass fans from all over the world. In 1998, Sisk formed Ramblers Choice and together they recorded and released their first solo project, ‘Sounds of the Mountains.’ Sisk has surrounded himself with a top-notch band of musicians that includes Jason Tomlin on bass and vocals; Chris Davis on mandolin and vocals; Billy Hawks on fiddle and vocals; and Jason Davis on banjo and vocals.
Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice received the SPBGMA’s Album of the Year Award for ‘The Heart of a Song.’ Sisk also received the Contemporary Male Vocalist of the Year honor for 2013. ‘A Far Cry from Lester and Earl’ was named SPBGMA’s 2013 Song of the Year.
Bluegrass on the Square is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, so spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets.
