Vada L. Anderson
Vada Lucille Heishman Anderson, 91, Corydon, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at Todd Dickey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Leavenworth.
Born Aug. 8, 1921, in Harrison County, she was the daughter of the late Ivan and Hallie Rainbolt Heishman.
She was a retired surgery ward clerk at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, a member of Old Capitol United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star Old Capitol Chapter No. 467 and the Pythian Sisters, all in Corydon, and a volunteer for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton E. (Andy) Anderson; three brothers, Leonard, Ernest and Nelson Heishman; and two sisters, Mina Smith and Wilma Kintner.
Survivors include a son, Milton I. (Sonny) Anderson of Corydon; three daughters, Linda Watkins of Bloomington, Dinah Cunningham of English and Carol McAfee of Corydon; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, Aug. 4, from noon to 6 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 5, after 9 a.m. Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Monday, Aug. 5, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Heidelberg Cemetery near Corydon.
Officiant: The Rev. Stephen McAfee.
Pallbearers: Dennis Scott McAfee, Darrell Cunningham, Floyd Samuel Cunningham, J.T. Mattingly, Todd Brooks and David Watkins.
Honorary pallbearers: Lori Mattingly, Jenny Anderson, LaVada Brooks and Heather Watkins.
