Paul D. Reynolds

Paul David Reynolds, 84, Corydon, died Monday, July 22, 2013, after a lengthy struggle with cancer.
Born Aug. 21, 1928, in Oshkosh, Neb., he was the son of the late David W. and Ruth E. Fitch Reynolds.
He earned a Bachelor of Theology degree from Immanuel Missionary College and a Master of Education degree and post-graduate work from Xavier University in Cincinnati, served 55 years in ministry, including pastoring for 20 years, at churches, including Sharon Church in Indiana and Allegheny Wesleyan churches in Brownsville, Pa., and Columbus, Ohio. He and his first wife, Wilma, were missionaries to Africa for about 10 years. Paul also taught at Immanuel Missionary College, Salem Bible College and God’s Bible High School, where he was high school principal for 16 years, during which time he also supervised 13 city missions as an outreach of the college department.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 29 years, the former Wilma Waggoner, on May 31, 1982; his second wife of 15 years, the former Leota Benninger, on Jan. 10, 1999; two sisters, Ruby Evelyn Williams and Florence (Grace) Hobbs; and a son, Paul Daniel.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, the former Mary Evelyn Coe; two daughters, Sharon Martin of Accra, Ghana, Africa, and Esther Burton of Vinton, Va.; a son, Dale Reynolds of Frankfort; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, July 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday, July 26, after noon at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Friday, July 26, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with a graveside service Saturday, July 27, at 2 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery in Frankfort.
Officiants: The Revs. Mark Lemon and William Cope.
Honorary pallbearers: Dwayne Reynolds and Paul, David, John, Ben and William Burton.
