Fall Youth Soccer registrations underway

The YMCA of Harrison County is accepting registrations for its Fall Youth Soccer program through July 31.
The Y’s youth soccer program provides basic soccer skills taught in an environment that promotes caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, the four core values of the Y.
REC soccer and REC PLUS soccer leagues will be created.
REC Soccer teams are non-traveling and co-ed teams consisting of U5, U6, U8 and U10 age groups. The cost for YMCA of Harrison County members is $55 per child. The cost for non-YMCA of Harrison County members is $70 per child. The fee includes a shirt, socks and a team participating award. Games will be played at the Y on Saturdays beginning Aug. 24. Make-up games may be played on weeknights. Also, the U10 league will play in one weekend tournament away from the YMCA of Harrison County.
REC PLUS teams are for youth U12 through U15 and will be played in a travel league against clubs in the Southern Indiana and greater Louisville area. REC PLUS teams may be co-ed, depending on the number of registered players. REC PLUS games may be played on Saturdays and Sundays. The cost for REC PLUS for YMCA of Harrison County members is $60 per child. For non-YMCA of Harrison County members, REC PLUS cost is $75 per child. The fee includes a reversible jersey, socks and Indiana Youth Soccer Association league fees.

U5 ‘ Born between Aug. 1, 2008, and July 31, 2009;
U6 ‘ Born between Aug. 1, 2007, and July 31, 2008;
U8 ‘ Born between Aug. 1, 2005, and July 31, 2007;
U10 ‘ Born between Aug. 1, 2003, and July 31, 2005;
U12 ‘ Born between Aug. 1, 2001, and July 31, 2003; and
U15 ‘ Born between Aug. 1, 1998, and July 31, 2001.

Financial assistance is available, with support from the Harrison County Community Foundation and donors, for a variety of programs and membership at the YMCA of Harrison County. It is the Y’s pledge, within its available resources, to provide services to individuals regardless of ability to pay. Those unable to pay the full fee may apply to receive sliding-scale assistance through the Open Doors program. Open Doors assistance is granted based on personal need, enrollment limitation and the Y’s financial resources.
Registration forms are available at the YMCA of Harrison County or can be printed off the website, www.ymcaharrison.org.
