Carl E. Walther

Carl E. Walther, 72, Lanesville, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, in Leitchfield, Ky.
Born July 27, 1940, in New Albany, he was the son of the late Robert Frederick and Amelia Dietrich Walther.
He was a retired employee from Phillip-Morris in Louisville, a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville and an Air Force veteran.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Adelia Eisenhower.
Survivors include his wife, the former Jaulita Gilstrap of Falls of Rough, Ky.; four daughters, Shannon Walther Crosby of Lanesville, Stacey Walther of Chandler, Ariz., and Sheree Baumgart and Christy Cates, both of Corydon; two sons, Chad Baker of Laconia and Byron Baker of Georgetown; a brother, Norbert Walther of Lanesville; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, July 2, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, July 3, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Wednesday, July 3 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church south of Lanesville with burial, and military rites, in the church cemetery.
Officiant: Pastor Christopher Truelsen.
Pallbearers: Chad and Byron Baker, Nathan Cates, Greg Baumgart, Chuck Crosby and John Walther.
Honorary pallbearer: Jack Crosby.
The family suggests memorial gifts to his church.
