4-year-old hospitalized after ATV crash

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV crash that occurred Saturday evening on private property near Corydon.
Conservation Officers were called about 7:20 p.m. to Harrison County Hospital, where the 4-year-old ATV operator was being treated for injuries, including a broken arm.
The victim, Leeandra Maldonado of Corydon, was operating the youth model ATV with a 3-year-old passenger when she lost control and was thrown from the ATV. Maldonado’s guardian was supervising and quickly rendered aid, according to a conservation officer.
Neither child was wearing a helmet or any safety equipment, he said.
Indiana Conservation Officers strongly encourage riders to always wear a helmet and necessary safety equipment when operating an ATV.
