Charles C. Hertel
Charles C. Hertel, 72, Georgetown, died Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.
Born Oct. 13, 1940, in Evansville, he was the son of the late George and Theckla Metzger Hertel.
He was a USDA meat inspector, a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford and an Army veteran.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hertel; a son, Danny Hertel; and a great-grandson.
Survivors include two sons, Keith Hertel of Georgetown and Eddie Hertel of Mooresville; a daughter, Cindy Robbins of Louisville; a brother, Clarence Hertel of St. Wendel; two sisters, Mary Catherine Schmitt of Poseyville and Martha Schmitt of Haubstadt; 12 grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, June 25 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, June 26, after 8 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral Mass: Wednesday, June 26, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford with burial in the church cemetery.
Celebrant: Father John Fink.
