Shirley A. Simon

Shirley Ann Nale Simon, 71, Depauw, died Monday, June 10, 2013, at Hosparus In Patient Care Center in Louisville.
Born Oct. 8, 1941, in Depauw, she was the daughter of the late James Russell and Pauline Patton Nale.
She was a care giver, a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Frenchtown, a published poet, singer, songwriter, local musician, entertainer, member of the Country Charm Band and active in theatre. She also had a long-running radio show on WBRO-FM and was former president of the Women’s Literary Club in Corydon.
Survivors include two sons, Franklin Simon Jr. of Wadsworth, Ohio, and David Simon of New Salisbury; two daughters, Tracy Pierson of New Salisbury and Leslie Simon-Grant of Depauw; a brother, James Douglas Nale of Depauw; a sister, Doris J. Cleek of Ramsey; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, June 14, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 15, after 8 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Saturday, June 15, at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Frenchtown with burial in the church cemetery.
