Volunteers needed for ‘World’ festival

Do you want to stop bullying? Do you want your children to feel comfortable around somebody different from them? Do you hope for a day when there’s no prejudice in Harrison County? If yes, then here’s your chance to make it happen.
Thursday, June 13, is the organizing meeting for an event founded by Community Unity to address these issues.
Starting at 7 p.m., at the Harrison County Community Foundation building in Corydon (near the YMCA of Harrison County), volunteers are needed to plan the World on the Square festival.
Teachers, counselors, parents and grandparents are invited to spend a few hours this summer preparing for this free family festival, which will take place Saturday evening, Aug. 10. Hundreds of children are expected to attend, but help is needed in the meantime to contact international exhibitors, ethnic entertainers and restaurant donors for the international food taste and to publicize this event to the community.
