Claudia Mildred Pelleman, 90, Leavenworth, died Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Todd Dickey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Leavenworth.
Born Nov. 17, 1922, in Ashland City, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Willie Lee Hooper South.
She was formerly employed at ARPAC in Corydon and the Overlook Restaurant in Leavenworth and was a member of Leavenworth Community Presbyterian Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Henry Pelleman Sr.; a daughter, Bonita Pelleman; a granddaughter, Jennifer Purcell; a brother, Herman South; and an infant sister.
Survivors include two sons, George Pelleman Jr. and Dwayne Pelleman, both of Leavenworth; two daughters, Vickie Morin of Palmyra and Robin Goodpaster of Marengo; a brother, Johnny South of Mississippi; four sisters, Lillie Bea Gentry, Ruby Lee Corbell, Lillian Trimm and Dottie Tanner, all of Mississippi; 24 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, June 5, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, June 6, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, June 6, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Leavenworth.
Officiant: The Rev. Randy Coleman.
Pallbearers: Vickie Morin, Adam and Josh McClure, Donnie Pittman, Jimmy Lang, Jared and Colton Purcell and David Wilkins.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
