Uhl/LeJeune pair to earn sectional

Corydon Central’s doubles tandem of Kayla Uhl and Symphony LeJeune earned the sectional championship in the girls’ tennis individual state tournament last Tuesday.
Played at Silver Creek, the team tennis regional site, Uhl and LeJeune won their doubles match against New Washington’s Amanda Kemp and Christen Walker, 6-4, 6-1.
To reach the individual tournament, Uhl and LeJeune defeated Lanesville’s No. 1 doubles team at sectional. Since the Lady Panthers were unable to defeat Lanesville as a team, the winning No. 1 doubles team advances to the individual state tournament.
Up next for Uhl and LeJeune is the Bedford North Lawrence Regional for singles and doubles players. They will face off against the winning duo from the Seymour Sectional on Saturday, June 1.
The morning session will begin at 10 a.m., while the afternoon session (championship) will commence at 2 p.m. Admission is free.
