Club’s 14th annual dog show returns to Corydon

Southern Indiana Kennel Club will host its 14th all-breed dog shows Saturday and Sunday at the Harrison County Fairgrounds in Corydon. These shows offer competition in conformation, obedience and rally obedience classes.
Approximately 700 entries will compete each day.
Dogs competing in conformation will be evaluated on their conformance to AKC breed standards, while those competing in obedience and rally will be judged on their ability to perform a series of voice and/or hand commands.
The total entry represents nearly every AKC recognized breed, with many of the top dogs of the region in competition.
The conformation and obedience judging will take place in the buildings of the fairgrounds beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and at 8 a.m. Sunday. Group judging will begin at approximately 2 p.m. Saturday and at 12:30 p.m. Sunday followed by Best in Show.
The public is invited to watch the judging.
‘If you are thinking about acquiring a new dog, this is a place to talk to breeders or owners and learn more about the breed,’ Archie Kintner Jr., show chairman, said.
There is no charge for parking or admission.
HEART will have a food booth under the grandstand both days.
Scheduled judging times for individual breeds will be available online at Click on ‘show information’ then ‘closed shows’ then ‘Southern Indiana Kennel Club.’ There are individual tabs for both Saturday and Sunday.
A link to the show information will also be posted at after judging times become available.
