Norman Voyles
Norman (Gene) Voyles, 82, Greenville, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at his home.
Born May 9, 1931, in Central Barren, he was the son of the late Homer (Jake) and Eleanor Heuser Voyles.
He was a 1949 graduate of Georgetown High School, a Navy veteran during the Korean War, retired from International Harvester after 32 years and a member of Milltown Pilgrim Holiness Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Calvin, Gerald, Homer Jr. and Bill; a daughter, Joyce Voyles Price; and a great-grandson, Julian Turner.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, the former Zelma Ammons; a son, Steven Voyles of Hardinsburg; a daughter, Shirley Wetherald of New Albany; a brother, John Voyles of Greenville; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, May 20, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, May 21, after 9 a.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
Funeral: Tuesday, May 21, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Galena Cemetery.
