Robert L. LaDuke
Robert L. LaDuke, 87, New Albany, formerly of Crandall, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at his home.
Born June 17, 1925, in Del Ray Beach, Fla., he was the son of the late H.L. and Margret LaDuke.
He was a 1942 graduate of New Salisbury High School, a Navy veteran of World War II after enlisting at the age of 17 and serving aboard the USS Ransom Minesweeper that was the first ship into Hiroshima after the atomic bomb, retired from International Harvester, was a member of VFW Post No. 1693, American Legion Post No. 28 and DePauw Masonic Lodge No. 338 F&AM and attended the Methodist church.
Survivors include his wife, Murial M. LaDuke; three sons, Gary R. LaDuke of Floyds Knobs, Terry L. LaDuke of Weaverville, N.C., and Timothy M. LaDuke of New Albany; a brother, Jim LaDuke of Corydon; two sisters, Madelyn Byrn of New Albany and Mary Ann Brown of Columbia, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, May 10, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Home in New Albany.
Funeral: Saturday, May 11, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
