Ellen L. Howerton

Ellen L. Howerton, 70, Cadiz, Ky., Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center following a short illness.
Born April 12, 1943, in New Albany, she was the daughter of the late Leland Davis and Grayce Oneita Baylor Cobel.
She had worked at Shaws Grocery Store, was a homemaker, was a member of Ponderosa Baptist Church and was an award-winning quilter.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Sonny Howerton; two brothers, Harry L. Davis of Carmel and James E. Davis of Anderson; and a sister, Ann R. Jones of Zephyrhills, Fla.
Visitation: Thursday, April 25, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Ponderosa Baptist Church.
Funeral: Thursday, April 25, at 6:30 p.m. at the church and Friday, April 26, from noon to 12:30 p.m. at Stoess Funeral Home in Louisville with burial at 1 p.m. at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
Arrangements: King’s Funeral Home in Cadiz.
Officiant: The Rev. Norman Cotton.
