Train fatality in Ramsey

The Harrison County coroner was called to the scene of a deadly train crash mid-afternoon Tuesday at Crosby Road at a crossing of the Norfolk Southern Railroad near S.R. 64 in Ramsey.
According to the Indiana State Police, Kenneth (Alan) Downey, 52, Corydon, died at the scene.
Witnesses said Downey, who was driving a white 2007 Dodge pickup owned by Ramsey Water Co., stopped at the crossing, which has no lights or bells, before being struck by the westbound train, which was traveling at 42 mph at the time of the collision.
The crash is still under investigation.
