Dennie Lee Stroud, 58, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born Aug. 5, 1954, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Betty Louise True Stroud of Corydon and the late Darrell C. Stroud.
He was a 1987 graduate of Sullivan University, a former volunteer firefighter for the Milltown Volunteer Fire Dept., treasurer for the Milltown-Whiskey Run Fire District, president of the Crawford County Public Library board, a volunteer for the Court Appointed Special Advocate Service (CASA), a former janitor for Milltown Elementary School, a retired field representative for the Dept. of Local Government Finance, a former business manager for the Crawford County superintendent’s administration office and a financial adviser for the Crawford County Judicial Complex.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sylvia Stroud.
Survivors in addition to his mother include two sons, Lee M. and Casey L. Stroud, both of Milltown; a daughter, Jessica E. Stroud of Georgetown; and a brother, Darrell David Stroud of New Albany.
Visitation: Tuesday, April 16, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, April 17, after 9 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Milltown.
Funeral: Wednesday, April 17, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with interment in Batman Ridge Cemetery.
Officiant: Pastor Ed Conway.
