Charles Aldrick Russell, 90, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at Zephyr Haven Health and Rehab Center in Zephyrhills, Fla.
Born March 23, 1923, in Wilfred, Ind., he grew up on a farm in Vigo County near Terre Haute, graduated from Rockport High School in 1941 and from Marion College and Dayton Theological Seminary. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the German campaign, served as a minister for 18 years, was the director of Lake County Mental Health Association in northern Indiana and of Sandy Pines Resort in Michigan before retiring in 1990 and moving to Zephyrhills.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Russell; six children, Charlene of Louisville, Ronald of Pekin, Larry of Scottsdale, Ariz., Brian of Beech Grove, Brenda of Greenwood and Scott of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three stepchildren, Bruce of Indianapolis, David of Tucson, Ariz., and Susan of Lansing, Ill.; two sisters, Laura of Naples, Fla., and Sandra of Indianapolis; 24 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service: Saturday, April 13, at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood.
