Melvin M. King Jr., 57, Laconia, died Monday, April 1, 2013, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born June 11, 1955, in Corydon, he was the son of Melvin M. King Sr. of Laconia and the late Jimmie Gertrude Kingsley King.
He was a former employee of the Indiana State Highway Dept.
Besides his father, he is survived by his wife, the former Lori M. Wiseman; a son, Justin King of Laconia; a daughter, Jamie Newman of Laconia; a brother, Gary King of Laconia; and two grandsons.
Visitation: Wednesday, April 3, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday, April 4, after 8 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, April 4, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Old Goshen Cemetery near Laconia.
Officiant: Bill Allen.
Pallbearers: Justin King, Nick Evans, Gary Richard, Larry Lamb, Dick Faith, Bobby Campbell, Jeff Lillpop and David Crosier.
Honorary pallbearers: Debbie and Skip Dones, Danny Wiseman, Wayne King and Dillon Crawford.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Laconia Lions Club Scholarship Fund or Hosparus of Southern Indiana.
