Corydon native graces cover of magazine

Hyla Conrad of Corydon is featured on the cover of the recent issue of No Nonsense, a magazine published by Beverly International.
Conrad, 29, is a figure competitor, a physique exhibition for women that typically takes place with various body building events.
Competitively in 2012, Conrad scored overall figure wins at the National Physique Committee (NPC) Kentucky State, NPC Ohio State and NPC Kentucky Muscle. She ended the fall season competing in the NPC Nationals in Atlanta, Ga.
Most recently, Conrad competed in the Arnold Amateur at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio, placing sixth.
‘This is a huge international show,’ she said. ‘I am so happy with that placing because of the international exposure I received. Some great competitors were at that show from around the world.’
In 2013, Conrad will attend all national shows and will try to obtain her International Federation of BodyBuilding and Fitness pro card.
‘It puts me with an elite group of women, and the process starts all over again,’ Conrad said. ‘I am reaching for the top as each show gets more competitive and as I start traveling outside of the Midwest. So, hopefully, my pro card is near!’
Conrad is currently a contributor on www.fitbody.com, writing articles about fitness and competing on the site.
‘This journey and career path is just the beginning for me, and I am excited to see what is next,’ Conrad said in the magazine.
No Nonsense features four pages dedicated to Conrad, highlighting her competition experience, motivation, diet and training.
Conrad also is working on her personal website, www.hylaconrad.com, where she will offer online personal training through the site, along with training tips and updates about future competitions.
