Kenneth A. Shields
Kenneth A. (Kenny) Shields, 74, Corydon, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born April 21, 1938, in Beechwood, he was the son of the late Russell and Thelma Seaton Shields.
He was employed with Honeywell Aerospace, formerly Sperry Flight Systems, in Phoenix for approximately 40 years as an electromechanical design engineer and also subcontracted as a software system administrator for the Honeywell Business and Commuter Aviation Division in Glendale, Ariz.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Richard Shields.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, the former Irene A. Ugalde; three brothers, Roger Shields of Clarksville, Gary Shields of New Albany and John Shields of Milltown; and two sisters, Jo Ann Mueller of Georgetown and Jane Clark of Salem.
Visitation: Thursday, Feb. 14, from 2 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7, and Friday, Feb. 15, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Friday, Feb. 15, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
Officiant: Father Rob Hankee.
Pallbearers: Jason, Aaron, John and Roger Shields, Gary Matheny and Bill Glotzbach.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
