Warrant Officer Jack R. Pfannmoeller, Retired United States Marine Corps, 86, died in Roanoke, Va.
He was a graduate of Flaget High School in Louisville, the University of Louisville and the U.S. Naval Academy Prep School in Bainbridge, Md. During his 24 years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps, he served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam/Japan. He was a life member of the Retired Officer’s Association, the National Marine Corps Mustang Association and past president of the Florida chapter, a Kentucky Colonel and past president of the Lanesville Athletic Club and served as director of Harrison County Civil Defense.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Will and Agnes Pfannmoeller of Louisville, two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, the former Darline Evans.
Visitation: Monday, Feb. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Graveside military service Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m. at Lanesville Protestant Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots.
