James E. Harshfield

James Eugene (Jim) Harshfield, 63, Corydon, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at University Hospital in Louisville.
Born Nov. 20, 1949, in New Albany, he was the son of the late Eugene and Martha Carver Harshfield.
He was retired from the Ford Motor Co. Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, was a member of the Teamsters Union, Old Capitol Saddle Club, Bluegrass Saddle Club, International Barrel Racing Association and the Kentucky Men’s Barrel Racing Association and was the Color Guard coach of the Lucky Horseshoes 4-H Club in Corydon.
Survivors include his wife, the former Sandra Kay (Sandy) Wills; two sons, James D. and Donald E. Harshfield, both of Corydon; two daughters, Dawn D. Summers of Corydon and Crystal S. Petit of Stafford, Va.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, Feb. 1, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 2, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Saturday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Pfrimmer’s Chapel Cemetery near Corydon.
Officiant: Pastor Tim Johnson.
Pallbearers: Ricky and Harvey Beeler, Randy Anderson, Kenny Bishop, Steven Flock and Steven Summers.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Harrison County 4-H.
