Cecil Carver


Cecil Carver, 65, Corydon, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born April 8, 1947, in Battletown, Ky., he was the son of the late Ralph and Florence Faith Carver.
He was an Army veteran, a retired tire mechanic with Trusty’s Tires in Corydon and a member of VFW Old Capitol 2950 Post in Corydon and Potato Run United Methodist Church near Corydon.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Carver and Carl Carver, and a sister, Deloris Embry.
Survivors include his wife, the former Wanda Pittman; two sons, Michael Carver and Eric Carver, both of Corydon; two daughters, Kristine Morrow of Corydon and Kim Blaker of Oklahoma; two brothers, Chet Carver and Charlie Carver, both of Corydon; a sister, Katherine of North Carolina; and five grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, Jan. 20, from noon to 8 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 21, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Monday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Grable Cemetery near Corydon.
Officiants: Pastor Larry Hensley and Brother Melvin Beecher.
