Jimmie Gertrude King, 77, Laconia, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born Aug. 5, 1935, in Harrison County, she was the daughter of the late Simeon and Myrtle Saulman Kingsley.
She retired from Harrison County Hospital, where she was a ward clerk for 28 years, was a former employee of the Louisville Chair Co. for 17 years, was a member of Union Chapel Christian Church and Laconia Lions Club and was a Boone Township trustee for 16 years.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin M. King Sr.; two sons, Melvin M. Jr. and Gary W. King, both of Laconia; two brothers, Joseph and Walter (Rex) Kingsley, both of Laconia; five sisters, Lena Mae Ferree and Debbie Dones, both of Laconia, Linda Birdwell of Floyds Knobs and Katherine Knear and Beverly Eisenmenger, both of Elizabeth; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Saturday, Jan. 5, from 3 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 6, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 7, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Monday, Jan. 7, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Old Goshen Cemetery near Laconia.
Officiant: Brother Robert Watson.
Pallbearers: Kenny, Donnie and Ronnie Ferree, Robert and Edward Kingsley and Todd King.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Laconia Lions Club Scholarship Fund.
