Ronald M. Mix

Ronald Maurice Mix, 73, Leavenworth, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born Sept. 17, 1939, in Orange County, he was the son of the late Jesse and Kathleen Stroud Mix.
He was a 1957 graduate of Leavenworth High School, earned an associate degree in criminal justice from Eastern Kentucky University, was a retired Louisville police officer, was former owner of IN Custom Auto Upholstery in Lanesville and Leavenworth and a former school bus driver for the Lanesville Community School Corp., was a Crawford County precinct committeeman and was a member of Leavenworth Community Presbyterian Church, Posey No. 188 Masonic Lodge in Leavenworth, Kosair Shriners, Fraternal Order of Police, Louisville Police Officer’s Association and the Order of the Eastern Star. He won the Kentucky Police Officer’s pistol competition in 1969 and 1970.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Mix.
Survivors include his wife, the former Janet Sue Mason; two sons, Jon Todd Mix of Sellersburg and Lance Mix of Lanesville; a daughter, Judi Oswalt of Summerfield, Fla.; two brothers, Terry and Richard Mix; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Visitation: Sunday, Dec. 2, from noon to 8 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 3, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Monday, Dec. 3, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Leavenworth Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers: Joshua, Justin and Alex Mix, Matthew and Joseph Oswalt, John Marshall and Garrett Hay.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the ALS Association (Lou Gehrig’s disease), Development Department, 27001 Agoura Road, Suite 250, Calabasas, CA 91301.
