The Rev. Don D. Haug
The Rev. Don Darrell Haug, 74, Lanesville, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Autumn Woods Health Campus in New Albany.
Born Sept. 23, 1938, in Jacksonville, Fla., he was the son of the late George W. and Vera Tabbert Haug.
He was a minister of the gospel for 45 years in the Lutheran Ministry of the Missouri Synod, also serving the deaf and hearing impaired congregations as well as camp ministry and hospital chaplaincy. He also volunteered as a chaplain in the Texas Civil Air Patrol and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in New Albany.
Survivors include his wife, the former Lorraine Goulet of Canada; two stepchildren, Brigette Tepanier and Martin Tepanier; four daughters, Sabrina Haug and Lara Lieber, both of Lanesville, Spring Harris of Floyds Knobs and Holly Bernardi of Leavenworth; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.
Funeral: Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in New Albany with burial in Lanesville Protestant Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Bruce Kischnick.
The family suggests memorial gifts be made to Lutheran Bible Translators, Lutheran Hour Ministries or Lutheran World Relief.
