Hildreth I. Stamper

Hildreth I. Stamper, 80, New Salisbury, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at her home near Milltown.
Born June 23, 1932, in New Albany, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Alma Stevens Plaiss.
She was a former employee of Keller Manufacturing Co. in Corydon and M. Fine and Sons Shirt Factory in New Albany and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, SSGT Frank R. Stamper; a brother, William Plaiss; and two sisters, Francis Pickard and Rosalea Volz.
Survivors include two sons, Frank R. Stamper and James William Stamper of Leavenworth; a daughter, Linda S. Schmidt of Milltown; two brothers, Robert Plaiss of Georgetown and Ralph Plaiss of Edwardsville; two sisters, Georgia Hughes of Corydon and Dora Mitchell of New Albany; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Nov. 21, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in the Fort Knox Post Cemetery.
Officiant: Pastor Jerry McKinney.
Pallbearers: Robert Plaiss, Bob Hughes, Jeff Schmidt, Russell Morris, Merrill Ray Wiseman and Ralph Plaiss.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Alzheimer’s Association.
