Robert L. Schneider

Robert L. Schneider, 87, Corydon, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Kindred Transitional Care-Harrison in Corydon.
Born Aug. 14, 1925, in Corydon, he was the son of the late Otto J. and Mattie Lotich Schneider.
He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, an administrator for Jefferson Area Vocational Tech School in Louisville, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and a lifelong member of VFW Post No. 2950 and American Legion No. 123.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Melba Herche, and his stepmother, Ailene Ripperdan Schneider.
Survivors include two sons, Fred Schneider of Corydon and Lynn Schneider of Athens, Ohio; a sister, Arlene S. Barrett of Kings Mountain, N.C.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, Nov. 4, from noon to 8 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 5, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Monday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Officiant: Pastor Robyn Kistemaker.
