Dorothea M. Woertz

Dorothea Mae Woertz, 93, Elizabeth, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born June 16, 1919, in Camner, Ky., she was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Nettie Davis McInteer.
She was owner and operator of Woertz’s General Store in Elizabeth for more than 25 years and a member of The Lighthouse United Methodist Church, where she was also a member of the Golden Girls.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Woertz; a brother, Woodrow Lee McInteer; and a sister, Marjorie Davis Morgan.
Survivors include nieces and a nephew.
Visitation: Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon and Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Lighthouse United Methodist Church in Elizabeth.
Funeral: Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. at the church with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth.
Pallbearers: Adam Babcock, Brian and Todd McKnight, Randy Brown, Michael Woertz and Tom Withers.
The family suggests memorial gifts to her church.
