Virginia M. Stumph
Virginia Mae Stumph, 97, Corydon, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation ‘ Harrison.
Born Jan. 27, 1915, in Marion County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Leo T. Isaacs Sr. and Celeste Whitehouse Isaacs.
She was employed by Harrison County Hospital and doctors Jordan and Martin and was a long-time member of Old Capitol United Methodist Church in Corydon.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Walter D. Stumph, and four brothers, L.T., Claude, Owen and Walter Isaacs.
Survivors include a daughter, JoAnn Cabell of Nokomis, Fla.; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.
Visitation: Tuesday, Sept. 11, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 12, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Celebration of Life: Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Officiant: The Rev. Andy Hansen.
Pallbearers: Steve Duley, Larry Hauswald, Orville LaHue Jr., Eddie Mathes, Ron Simpson, Jerrell Wiseman, John Rowland and Bill Radmacher.
The family suggests memorial gifts to her church or to Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation ‘ Harrison.
