The Corydon Central girls’ golf team came away with wins last Wednesday when it hosted Mid-Southern Conference foes North Harrison, Silver Creek and Clarksville at Old Capital Golf Club in Corydon.
The Lady Panthers were the lone team to record a score, coming in at a solid 180. The other three teams, however, did not have enough players to complete a team.
Taylor Frederick led Corydon Central with the low score of 41. She was followed by teammates Kennedy Nash and Marie Rothrock, who had 43 and 44, respectively. Kayla Uhl came in as Corydon Central’s No. 4, carding a 52. Sidney Capelle finished with a 56.
Despite not having a team score, Devan Smith shot an impressive 38 to represent North Harrison. Other participating Lady Cats were Shena Johnson (62) and Brittany McCarty (68).
On Aug. 28, Corydon Central lost a tight match to New Albany, 176-185, at Valley View Golf Club.
Frederick carded the lowest round for the Lady Panthers, a 41. Nash shot a 45, followed by Rothrock’s 49, Uhl’s 50 and Capelle’s 53.
Corydon Central will play host to the Mid-Southern Conference Meet Saturday at Old Capital. Teams will tee off at 1 p.m.
