Walter (Andy) Anderson Jr., 90, New Middletown, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
Born Oct. 10, 1921, in Harrison County, he was the son of the late Walter Sr. and Elizabeth M. Emily Anderson.
He was retired from E.H. Hughes Construction Co. in Clarksville, was a member of Carpenters Union Local No. 631 in New Albany and Corydon Christian Church Disciples of Christ and was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 65 years, the former Wilma L. Rowe; two sons, Roger and Mark Anderson; a daughter, Linda Anderson-Summers; three brothers, Lloyd, Joe and Clifford Anderson; and four sisters, Erma Alexander, Sarah Paris, Louise Albin and Elizabeth Anderson.
Survivors include two sons, Randy and Rickie Anderson, both of New Middletown; five daughters, Judy Ward, Jackie Craig, Pam Lawson and Sandy Morris, all of New Middletown, and Connie Voyles of Corydon; a sister, Jean Wiseman of Corydon; and 78 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Saturday, Sept. 1, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 2, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Sunday, Sept. 2, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Pallbearers: Lynn and Steve Summers, Walter Stonecipher, Justin Ward, Walter, Kevin, Chad and Rickie Jr. Anderson, Jeremy Voyles and Andrew Craig.
Honorary pallbearers: Jordan and Jeffery Morris, Joey Ward, Chris Anderson and Toby Lawson.
The family suggests memorial gifts to New Middletown United Methodist Church.
