Sherrill R. Blackman
Sherrill Ray Blackman, 59, Elizabeth, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at his home.
Born Oct. 14, 1952, in Corydon, he was the son of the late Theodore and Mary Phyllis Bour Blackman.
He was a retired steel fitter at Jeffboat in Jeffersonville, a farmer and gardener and an Indiana Army National Guard veteran.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Ray Blackman.
Survivors include his wife, the former Theresa Jeanette Mason; a son, Justin Ray Blackman of Elizabeth; a daughter, Mary Kimberly Walston of Laconia; three brothers, Donald Blackman of Lanesville and Darrell (Butch) Sr. and Kenneth Blackman, both of Elizabeth; and six grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, Aug. 17, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 18, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Saturday, Aug. 18, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Bethesda Cemetery near Elizabeth.
Officiant: Pastor Rex Jones.
Pallbearers: Donnie Eckart, Donnie Humphrey, Darrell Blackman Jr., Scott Blackman, Jason Blackman and Rondal Blackman.
Honorary pallbearers: Grandchildren Autumn McKenzie Blackman, Tyler Ray Blackman, Bailey Lee Walston, Payton Edward Blackman, Evan Conner Blackman and Alli Rae Walston.
