Carl G. Johnson

Carl G. Johnson, 97, Jeffersonville, formerly of Milltown, died Saturday, July 21, 2012, at his home.
He was World War II Army veteran, had a career with Washington National Insurance Co. beginning in 1939 as an agent in Newark, N.J., and, in 1950, was promoted to the home office. He was a Delta airline Flying Colonel and a member of United Airlines’ Million Miler 100,000 Mile Club, as well as an Honorary Citizen of New Orleans and Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Billie; a daughter, Virginia Arluna of West Caldwell, N.J.; a son, Carl F. Johnson of Kings Park, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.
Memorial service: Sunday, Aug. 19, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Stone Creek Village Club in Jeffersonville.
Cremation was chosen.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Hosparus of Southern Indiana and the V.A. Home Based Primary Care unit.
