Floyd L. Archibald

Floyd Leon Archibald, 83, Georgetown, died Monday, July 16, 2012, at Waterford Health Campus in Kokomo.
Born March 17, 1929, in Marengo, he was the son of the late Charles and Anna Mabel Jones Archibald.
He was a chemist for Dupont in Louisville and a member of St. Mark’s United Church of Christ in New Albany.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Floyd K. Archibald; a brother, Lowell Archibald; and a sister, Chrystal Rollins.
Survivors include his wife, the former Betty Little; a son, David Archibald of Jeffersonville; four daughters, Lisa Schafer of Cincinnati, Joan Carver of Bunker Hill, Debbie Pirtle of Floyds Knobs and Mona Archibald of Milwaukee; a brother, Robert Archibald of Bedford; a sister, Ruth Reese of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, July 22, from noon to 2 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.
Funeral: Sunday, July 22, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Batman Cemetery in Milltown.
The family suggests memorial gifts to The Alzheimer’s Association.
