Samuel Lamar Smith, 80, Laconia, died Saturday, July 14, 2012, at St. Catherine Regional Hospital in Charlestown.
Born July 11, 1932, in Mauckport, he was the son of the late Clyde and Fern Miller Smith.
He was a farmer, a member of the Pisgah Masonic Lodge No. 32 F&AM in Corydon and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Smith.
Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Radmacher; a son, Wesley Smith of Laconia; a brother, Edgar Smith of Laconia; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, July 15, from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 16, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, July 17, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Tuesday, July 17, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Old Goshen Cemetery near Laconia.
Officiant: The Rev. Richard Goodwin.
Pallbearers: Eric, Brian, Jason and Leslie Dale Smith, Larry Kaiser and Mike Abbott.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Diabetes Association.
