Shelby L. Hammond
Shelby L. Hammond, 66, Huntingburg, died Sunday, June 17, 2012, at 9:45 a.m. at his home.
Born Nov. 28, 1945, in Floyd County, he was the son of the late Clovas Hammond and Myrle Paff.
He was a retired machinist for Indiana Desk, a member of Disabled American Veterans and of the Christian faith.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harvey, Kenny and William Hammond, and a sister, Norma Merholtz.
Survivors include his wife, Colleen Hammond; five children, Shannon Hammond of Corydon, Pat Brewer of Jasper, Jeremy and Danielle Brewer, both of Fort Branch, and Nathan Brewer of Merrillville; three brothers, Fred Hammond of Huntingburg, Dan Hammond of Horn Lake, Miss., and Brad Hammond of Clarksville; three sisters, Mary Metz of Taswell, Katie Sims of Hubert, N.C., and Mavis Sheffel of Byhilia, Miss.; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, June 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, June 21, after 9 a.m. at Denbo Funeral Home in English.
Funeral: Thursday, June 21, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Mifflin Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Mavis Sheffel.
