John L. Hubert
John L. Hubert, 82, Lanesville, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at his home.
Born May 30, 1929, in Lanesville, he was the son of the late Lee and Myrtle Baker Hubert Brewster.
He was a Korean War veteran, a general foreman for 19 years at General Plywood Corp. in New Albany, managed Circle Bar Tavern in Lanesville for 20 years and was a member of the Bonnie Sloan American Legion in New Albany, the VFW in New Albany, the Eagles Club in Corydon and the Fraternal Order of Police.
Survivors include his wife, the former Doris Small; two sons, Robert Hubert of Elizabeth and Randy Hubert of Lanesville; four daughters, Holly Hagan, Judy Lytle and Tammy Megenity, all of Lanesville, and Janet Sandifer of New Albany; two brothers, Charlie Hubert of Elizabeth and Glen Hubert of New Albany; a sister, Pearl Knuckles of Georgetown; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, May 11, from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday, May 12, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Saturday, May 12, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
