Mary G. Hoffman

Mary Gayle Hoffman, 78, Corydon, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Corydon Nursing and Rehab Facility.
Born Aug. 31, 1933, at Milltown, she was the daughter of the late Nova and Sylvia Miller Byrd.
She was a retired supervisor from the Census Bureau in Jeffersonville and a member of Divine Mercy Cenacle and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Hoffman, and three brothers, Elmo, Eldon and Owen Byrd.
Survivors include a son, John Mark Hoffman of Milltown; two daughters, Brenda Mosier and Rebecca Hoffman, both of Corydon; a brother, Loren Byrd of New Albany; two sisters, Olive Brown of Corydon and Linda Davis of Floyds Knobs; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, April 18, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 6, and Thursday, April 19, after 8 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Thursday, April 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon with burial in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in Frenchtown.
